Schalders – Schrüttensee
Directions:
From Varna, drive through the village with its church to Schalders, then turn right to Steinwend, where the road ends. There's a parking lot with a map. Follow the signs for "Schrüttensee." A moderately steep ascent, mostly through forest slopes, leads to the large Schrüttensee (1957 m). For those who are still up for it, a 10-minute walk above the trail leads to the small Schrüttensee (1964 m).

- Descent as per the ascent route: approx. 1.5 hours
- Elevation gain: 550 m
Public transport:
Bus connection from Varna to Schalders and then a 1-hour walk to Steinwend.
