For winter sports enthusiasts who want to explore a different destination every day, we are ideally located. The legendary Val Gardena, the well-known Seiser Alm, the trendy Plan de Corones, the beautiful Obereggen, as well as the family-friendly Ratschings, Speikboden, and Klausberg are not far away and offer the finest skiing pleasure paired with excellent ski infrastructure.
Not to be forgotten, of course, are the ski areas within sight, our local mountain, the Plose, and the Vals-Jochtal-Gitschberg ski area, which ensure wonderful skiing fun that certainly deserves a proper "Ski Heil."
Many of these ski areas offer enthusiastic ski mountaineers or alpine night owls a late-night ascent experience!
First-class ski areas with perfectly groomed slopes and modern lifts await you around our hotel. Just 20 minutes away is the Plose ski area, with nine modern lifts and 40 kilometers of slopes for all levels. This is also home to South Tyrol's longest ski slope, measuring 9 kilometers in length and 1,400 meters in elevation. Sunny slopes, a fun park, and numerous rustic huts ensure unforgettable days of skiing.
Families will find the best conditions in the Jochtal-Vals – Gitschberg ski area, just 15 minutes away. Easy slopes and the lovingly supervised Zwergele winter world make it an ideal place for children. A particularly attractive feature: children up to 8 years old ski for free if their parents buy a ski pass. It's also possible to take the gondola to the Gitschberg-Meransen ski area, which, together with Jochtal-Vals, offers 44 kilometers of slopes and 16 lifts. Both ski areas are accessible with the Eisacktal ski pass.
The Dolomiti Superski ski pass ensures unlimited skiing fun, granting you access to 12 ski regions, 450 lifts, and 1,200 kilometers of slopes. The entire Dolomites chain, with its bizarre rock formations and stunning snow slopes, is open to you. An absolute highlight is the legendary Sella Ronda, which crosses four Dolomite passes and connects the valleys of Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba, and Val di Fassa. A skiing experience you shouldn't miss!
Day or night, there are several sledding runs for the whole family around Haus Karin. On the Plose you can take the gondola to the top of the mountain before embarking on a thrilling 10km descent. There is also plenty of fun to be had on the Gitschberg, in Vals at the Fane Alm, in the Val di Funes and on many other popular toboggan runs in the area. There are also rustic huts along the way for a relaxing break - a winter treat for all ages!
Cross-country skiing enthusiasts will find perfectly groomed trails amidst a stunning winter landscape in the area around Bressanone and the Eisack Valley. The trails on the Rodengo Alm, in Vals, Villanders, at the Würzjoch Pass, in Ridnaun, and on the Seiser Alm are particularly popular. Whether you prefer classic technique or skating, trails for every level await you here – from gentle leisurely trails to challenging high-altitude trails with breathtaking panoramas. Nestled in the snowy mountains, these routes not only offer ideal conditions for an unforgettable cross-country skiing experience, but also numerous places to stop for refreshments and enjoy South Tyrolean hospitality.
