Scheibenberg and Zirmaitalm
Description:
From Varna to Spiluck, drive above the Gostner Inn (information board and parking). A few hundred meters before the parking lot, the access road to the Oberlechner farm branches off to the east. Following the forest path above the farm, take ascent path 2a. Continue along this path, partly steep but beautifully landscaped, through forest slopes up to the Wetterkreuz (a mountain cross) on the southern protruding rocky peak of the Scheibenberg (a beautiful vantage point over the Brixen valley basin). Continuing along trail 2a over the wooded summit and between clumps of alpine roses, we reach the Spilucker Lacke area and, over a saddle, the Spilucker Scharte. Trail 2a continues through the high forest to the Zirmaitalm (snack bar). If you feel like it, you can continue up to the Karspitz with direct views of our house and the surrounding mountain peaks and valleys (approx. 1 hour from Zirmait).
The return route leads eastward on Trail 2 down to the Spilucker Bach. After crossing the forest road, we descend beneath rock faces to the Steinwiesenalm, where a forest road leads to the Gostnerhof parking lot.
